From Finance to Formulas: My Journey with Oyu Botanica Featured in CanvasRebel

This story is deeply personal. It’s about resilience, reinvention, and a purpose that has guided me through every chapter of my life.

Where It All Began

 

I was born and raised in Mongolia, fueled by an insatiable curiosity and a deep love for learning. That passion led me across the globe, from government offices in Ulaanbaatar to investment firms in Silicon Valley, where I navigated the fast-paced world of global finance.

Despite my achievements in the financial sector, there was a quiet voice urging me toward something deeper—something more aligned with my love for science, nature, and self-care.

 

 

 

Building Oyu Botanica

 

In 2020, that voice turned into action, and Oyu Cosmetics was born—now known as Oyu Botanica. I combined my background in finance, health sciences, and organic cosmetic chemistry to build a brand rooted in clean, ethical skincare.

Our products are formulated with intention:

• Backed by science

• Aligned with sustainability

• Powered by nature

• And always cruelty-free

We’ve proudly earned EWG Verification, Vegan Certification, and the Leaping Bunny seal—proving that beauty doesn’t have to come at the cost of safety or ethics.

 

 

 

The Challenges Along the Way

 

The journey hasn’t been smooth. Transitioning from Wall Street to wellness meant starting from the ground up—new skills, new certifications, and new battles in a highly saturated beauty market. Add to that the cultural shifts of building a business in a foreign country, and the odds were often stacked against me.

But I kept going.

As a woman entrepreneur, I faced gender bias, funding challenges, and the weight of doing things differently in an industry still catching up to clean standards. But every challenge became fuel. And today, Oyu Botanica is more than a skincare brand—it’s a movement.
